For His Glory
by John Davis
We sought for glory in the work of our hands
Only to find our souls demand
A greater glory
Beyond the reach of human might
In Christ alone is the joyful sight
Of greater glory
Our sin produced a life of waste
But the gospel of grace offers a taste
Of future glory
Now empty souls languish no more
But on eagle’s wings rise and soar
For His greater glory
He’s coming back for you and me
Soon heaven and earth will only be
For his greater glory
All nations will come from east and west
Bringing to Jesus their very best
For His greater glory.
There is no need of a temple there
For nothing exists that can compare
To His Greatest glory
Will you be there in that peaceful place
Where His redeemed will see the face
Of His Matchless Glory.
