Grace Church - Showing God's Grace to a Great City

Grace Church is beginning to see God create in University City/West Philadelphia a gospel-centered Church which clarifies what it means to be "Christian." We know we live in a culture that has witnessed many misrepresentations of both the Christian life and Christian message and that, consequently, finds neither Christians nor the church very attractive. We have chosen the word 'grace' for our church as a starting point in clarifying and communicating the essence and simplicity of Christianity. Grace is that undeserved, unearned blessing of God expressed in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Grace meets us where we are and transforms us. 'Grace' is what we want to show to others, indiscriminately serving them and loving them in the name of Jesus. Grace is what makes spiritual unity possible in the midst of human diversity.  We invite you to join us on this grace journey.  At the outset, we confess the imperfections of our grace and our need for more grace, but we desire to meet you as you are and to grow with you in understanding and living the magnificent grace of God.

Though we want you to visit our Worship Services and Grace Groups, we realize that because of the brevity and uncertainty of life, we may never get to meet you. Our primary concern is that you understand who Jesus is and why He came to give his life for you. Please use the following link for a brief presentation of the only two choices that you and I have in life: How Can I Become A Christian?

Our Worship

We meet every Sunday afternoon at 4:00 PM for worship. Our hope is that the various elements of our worship might reflect the gospel and point to the sufficiency of the person and work of Jesus Christ. We celebrate the Lord’s Table every week to be nurtured in our faith as we focus on Christ our Redeemer and as we visibly and tangibly express our unity in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Please check the calendar for updated information and see the directions on the sidebar.
